Emma Paige, 81, formerly of Lagrange, passed away on August 20, 2019 at
VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA
Emma Amanda Paige the daughter of
the late Edward and Dora McGhee Paige was born in Lagrange.
Emma was a graduate of East Depot Class of 1956 and studied at Spelman College in Atlanta.
Emma leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Sakina (Jamal) Karima Paige and Rahim (Sara) Robert Paige of Richmond, VA; three grandchildren, Tessler Robert and Aston Elizabeth Paige, and Judah Robert Thomas of Richmond, VA; two sisters Elizabeth Thornton of LaGrange, Maxine (Skelton) Key of Norwalk, CT; two brothers Arnold Paige of Atlanta, and Robert (Mary Alice) Paige of Richmond, VA; beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends .
In the late 1950s, Emma moved to New York to pursue a career as a ballet dancer and continued her education at Pratt Institute.
She auditioned for Broadway Plays and Shows including The Original " Dreamgirls".
Emma became a Serial Entrepreneur during the course of her life; a Licensed Relator, Children's Clothing Business, Janitorial Service, Catering Service, Owned Three Restaurants in Brooklyn and a Manager for a Bakery Chain in Brooklyn Heights and Manhattan, NY.

Robert M. , 71, formerly of Lagrange passed away in Richmond, VA.
Robert McGhee Paige the son of the late Edward and Dora McGhee Paige was born in LaGrange.
He was a graduate of Ethel W. Kight High School Class of 1969.
Robert relocated to Springfield, MA and studied law enforcement and later moved to New York.
In 1970, Robert married his high school sweetheart Mary A. Slay and were happily married for 49 years.
Robert's career spans from Dog Handler with the U.S. Customs in Texas, Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark airport to a U.S. Customs/Border Protection Inspector.
He was a survivor of the tragic Sept. 11th attack and assisted many victims to safety.
Robert continued his 40yr career with the U.S. Customs/Border Protection until his retirement in 2013.
"Uncle Robert" as he was affectionately known, enjoyed teaching and mentoring the neighborhood kids and spending time with his immediate and extended family.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents, by six brothers (Edward Jr., Maxwell, Van, Gwen, Alvin, and Ralph), and four sisters (Harriett, Evelyn, Mildred and Emma).
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mary Alice; two children/nephew and niece, Rahim Robert(Sara) Paige and Sakina Karima Paige (Jamal) of Richmond, VA., three grandchildren, two sisters; Elizabeth Thornton of LaGrange, and Maxine (Skelton) Key of Norwalk, CT., one brother Arnold Paige of Atlanta, beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Charlie Poythress, 85, of 717 Glenn Robertson Dr. passed on Sunday at WellStar Hospice Lagrange.
Charlie "Bojay" Poythress the son on the late Joe and Essie Poythress was born in Lagrange.
He attended East Depot High and later served one tour in the U.S. Army.
Charlie was employed with Lagrange Molding and was the owner of the neighborhood
Tasty Treat that served the community with his famous foods.
He was a long-standing member of Saint Paul Baptist Church serving as a Deacon and Church Treasurer until his health declined.
Bojay was an active member of the former Lagrange American Legion Post 580.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by four brothers.
Survivors includes: Loving care-givers John Poythress, Jr. Connie Williams and Thairus Poythress, special nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
Viewing will be on Sunday from 1pm-8pm at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at his home.
Funeral services with military honors will be held on Monday, 2pm at Saint Paul Baptist church with the Rev. Desmond Scaife officiating and Rev. Charlie Barsh, Eulogist.
The interment will be in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery
On Saturday, November 2, 2019, Mister Elijah Burks. transitioned to spend eternity with his Heavenly Father.
ELIJAH BURKS was born on December 17, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia, son of Renata Cofield and Kelley Burks.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins.
He leaves to cherish in his memories his sisters, Keyoti Anderson, Jamia Cofield, Shakayla Cofield, Jessica Cofield and Kelmoria Burks and two brothers: Jonathan Godfrey and Monquavious Cofield, grandparents; Willie Doris Alford, Horace Cofield, Jr.,
Fannie Kimbrough, Ronnie Burks, great grandmother Johnnie Mitchell, aunts; Lashanta Burks, Roose Reese, Laquanda Cofield,

Sharon Sanders,60, of Lagrange Departed on Sunday at Wellstar Hospice Lagrange.
Sharon Denise Sanders the daughter of the late Willie Wee Harrison and Nettie Lou Wolfox was born in Lagrange, GA.
She was a graduate of Lagrange High School and was employed with New Ventures before her retirement years.
Survivors include her children; Jeffery Walton, April Walton(Glenn) Bonner, Calvin Sanders all of Lagrange and Darrell(Siobhan) of Woodbury, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, relatives and friends.
D’Andre Rashad Cotton was born February 21, 1992 in LaGrange, GA. He is the son of Tanita Cotton and Byron Smith.
He departed this life and entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2021.
D’Andre leaves to cherish his precious memories, his children: Madison D’Asia Cotton, Mason D’Andre Cotton, and Kristen Danielle Cotton; Brothers, D’Anthony Cotton and Tyrese Thornton; Sisters Tierra Reed, Kalliyah Smith and Laquiesha Smith; Aunts Shernaka Cotton and Kinina Barrett and Uncles Demetria Barrett, Carlos Barrett and Carlos Cotton
D’Andre is also cherished by his loving and loyal grandmothers Helen Cotton and Christine Barrett and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends
